FAQS

RD Physiotherapy answers our clients most-asked questions

Do you provide online consultations?

Our expert physiotherapists provide physiotherapy visits through telehealth video conferencing. We use a private and secure video-conferencing platform and provide you with a simple link prior to your treatment session to your email. You’ll need a computer that has a webcam.

Will I be treated on my first physiotherapy session?

The answer is YES. We will discuss in length any past injuries you may have suffered and also the cause of your current symptoms. This will enable us to understand you as person and also if your past injuries have a correlation to your current symptoms. A comprehensive physical examination will then be carried out to determine the most appropriate treatment and rehabilitation for you.

What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable. Bring a pair of shorts if it is a lower back, hip, knee, ankle, or a foot problem. Bring a tank top / vest if it is a neck, upper back, shoulder, elbow, or hand problem.

How long will treatments take?

Treatment sessions usually last up to 30 minutes.

There is an option to book in for 60 minutes if you have a complicated injury history, so just let us know at the time of booking.

How many sessions will I need?

This all depends on the extent of the injury or condition that you’re treating. Some acute injuries could take just 2-3 sessions while other chronic conditions or post-operative rehabilitation can take 8-12 weeks.

How do I pay?

Payment must be made after each consultation. We automatically email receipts unless you request otherwise. We accept cash, Debit or credit card for your convenience.

Do I need a referral?

No, you do not need a medical referral to see one of our physiotherapists. Please contact our reception directly to make an appointment.

Can I cancel an appointment?

If you need to cancel your appointment, it is requested that you do his 24 hours before your appointment date. A cancelation fee will be applied if you cancel after this time period.

Why choose a chartered Physiotherapist?

When you choose a physiotherapist who is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP), you will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that they are a part of Ireland’s only professional body in its field. All chartered physiotherapists are obliged to abide by the society’s rules of professional conduct, and code of ethics.

Does RD Physiotherapy share my information?

We do not share your personal information with any third parties. Your personal information and treatment notes are securely hosted on a physiotherapy specific practice management software package.

If we need to correspond with another Healthcare Practitioner on your behalf, eg your GP or a consultant, we will obtain your written consent in advance to do so.
